Description

ODOT is seeking one qualified contractor to perform fiber optic cable installation, repair, and maintenance services statewide, as needed, under an awarded price agreement. The price agreement will be available for use statewide and primarily service major metropolitan areas such as Portland, Salem, Bend, Medford, and La Grande with the majority of the work in the Portland area. Maintenance for existing fiber optic cables will include repairing fiber cable damaged by environment or nearby construction, providing short network extensions to nearby devices that may require new conduit, and similar type work. Some maintenance projects will be considered an emergency service that will require immediate attention to repair within a few hours. For projects that require new installation of fiber optic telecommunication connections, other contractors will complete the non-fiber splicing related aspects of the project including installing the conduit, hand holes, and non-spliced fiber optic cable. The contractor awarded this price agreement will install splice closures, splice the fiber strands, and terminate the fiber optic cables that were installed by the other contractor as dictated by engineered plan sets.
