Description

The State of Oregon, acting by and through the Department of Transportation, ("Agency"), is issuing this Request for Proposals for Mobile Crane Operator Services in various locations through Oregon. There will be two levels of crane operator evaluations; national certification/recertification for operators involved in construction activities and qualification/requalification for operators doing maintenance work. The primary purpose of the Price Agreement resulting from the RFP is for Proposer to provide evaluation of Agency employee operator courses to certify or recertify Agency's experienced mobile crane operators, who perform construction activities, for national accredited certification and recertification by NCCCO or to qualify or requalify Agency's experienced mobile crane operators who perform maintenance activities. The reference material provided will include the types of cranes used, characteristics and names of components, transporting, erecting, and dismantling of mobile cranes, and will prepare the operators to demonstrate how to safely operate a mobile crane. Reference and guidebooks must contain an example of a crane operator checklist or daily inspection log as well as specific requirements of the cranes such as machine conditioning and capacities and safe operating practices. The evaluation courses are not intended to provide training for new or inexperienced crane operators.
